The event is being organized by the Ministry of Education in collaboration with leading institutions and universities across India. The National Education Policy has been a pivotal reform in transforming India’s learning landscape, and the Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Samagam 2025 aims to review progress, identify challenges, and explore future directions.

Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Samagam 2025: Key Highlights

The Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Samagam 2025 is a flagship event under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav framework and aligns with the government’s vision of building a self rliant India powered by an inclusive, skill oriented, and future ready education system. The three day event will feature:

  • Inaugural address by Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister of Education.
  • Panel discussions on NEP implementation in school and higher education.
  • Presentations by state education departments on innovative NEP models.
  • Showcase of EdTech innovations and AI-driven learning tools.
  • Awards for best practices in NEP 2020 execution.

Over 5,000 participants from various corners of India are expected to attend the conclave, including vice chancellors, principals, teachers, researchers, and NGOs working in education.

Celebrating Five Years of the National Education Policy (NEP 2020)

Adopted in July 2020, the National Education Policy replaced the 34 year old National Policy on Education (1986). It envisioned a paradigm shift in the Indian education system from rote learning to conceptual understanding, from silos to interdisciplinary studies, and from access to equity and excellence.

Over the past five years, the NEP 2020 has led to:

  • Curriculum restructuring across grades to enhance critical thinking.
  • Introduction of Foundational Literacy and Numeracy Mission (FLN).
  • Emphasis on mother tongue and regional languages as medium of instruction.
  • Establishment of multidisciplinary institutions and skill hubs.
  • Implementation of credit based Academic Bank of Credit (ABC)Push for digital education through DIKSHA, SWAYAM, and PM eVidya.

At the Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Samagam 2025, each of these NEP milestones will be revisited, discussed, and benchmarked to evaluate their ground level impact.

Dharmendra Pradhan’s Vision for Education

Dharmendra Pradhan, who has been at the helm of India’s education ministry since July 2021, continues to champion the holistic goals of the National Education Policy. Under his leadership, the ministry has launched:

  • PM SHRI Schools to set the benchmark for NEP based education.
  • Skill India Digital Platform integrating vocational training with mainstream education.
  • Bharatiya Bhasha Utsav to promote regional languages and classical Indian knowledge systems.

At the event, Minister Dharmendra Pradhan is expected to unveil new digital tools, initiatives for inclusive education, and roadmap for NEP 2030.

Education Experts and Stakeholder Expectations

Many experts see the Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Samagam 2025 as a timely opportunity to reflect on how the National Education Policy has shaped Indian education. The inclusion of industry leaders and technology innovators also signals the increasing importance of private public partnerships in educational reform.

Dr. Pankaj Mittal, Secretary General of the Association of Indian Universities, remarked:

“Five years of NEP have laid the foundation, but now is the time to accelerate implementation. The Shiksha Samagam provides the perfect platform to bring all voices together.”

What to Expect Next?

Following the event, the Ministry of Education is likely to release an NEP Progress Report (2020–2025) and initiate consultations for policy fine tuning. There is also speculation around new teacher training mandates, updates to UGC norms, and steps to align India’s education standards with global best practices under NEP goals.
