He flagged off the Vande Bharat Express between Katra and Srinagar, establishing the first direct train link between Jammu and the Kashmir Valley. The train is specially engineered to endure extreme temperatures, with features like heated windshields and thermal insulation for operations at temperatures as low as -20°C.
