New Delhi, August 8, 2025: A shocking incident unfolded late Wednesday night in South Delhi’s Nizamuddin area, where Bollywood actress Huma Qureshi’s cousin was murdered following a heated dispute over parking. The case, which has sent shockwaves through the neighborhood and Bollywood circles, is now under active investigation by Delhi Police.

The victim, identified as Asif Qureshi, was reportedly attacked after an argument broke out over a parked scooter outside his residence. The dispute escalated when Asif asked a neighbor to remove their vehicle, leading to a violent altercation.

What Happened: A Parking Dispute Turns Fatal

According to eyewitnesses and preliminary police reports, the incident began around 9:45 PM on Wednesday when a local resident parked their scooty in front of Asif’s house. Asif requested that the vehicle be moved, citing inconvenience. However, the situation soon turned hostile, resulting in a physical confrontation.

In the heat of the moment, one of the accused allegedly attacked Asif Qureshi with a sharp object, fatally injuring him. He collapsed on the spot and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.

Police Investigation Underway

The Delhi Police registered a murder case at the Nizamuddin Police Station under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code. Two individuals have already been taken into custody and are being interrogated.

Speaking to Media, a senior police officer confirmed:

“We have detained two suspects connected to the murder of Asif Qureshi. Initial reports suggest a spontaneous fight, but we are also exploring whether there was any prior enmity.”

The accused are reportedly residents of the same neighborhood, which adds another layer of complexity to the Huma Qureshi cousin murder in Nizamuddin case. Law enforcement authorities are also scanning CCTV footage from the surrounding area to identify all individuals involved in the incident.

A local RWA member said:

“Parking fights are sadly common here. But for a disagreement to end in murder is horrifying. Authorities need to take stricter measures.”

The incident has also drawn attention from local politicians, who are now demanding better patrolling in residential areas. The Aam Aadmi Party’s local ward member called for immediate installation of street cameras and a dedicated local conflict resolution mechanism.
