Hurun India Rich List 2025: Mukesh Ambani Tops, Shah Rukh Khan Joins Billionaire Club

The Hurun India Rich List 2025, released by M3M India in collaboration with the Hurun Research Institute, has once again highlighted India’s expanding wealth landscape. The latest edition shows remarkable growth in the number of billionaires, with India now hosting over 350 billionaires a sixfold rise in just 13 years. Together, these individuals hold a combined wealth of Rs 167 lakh crore, nearly half of the nation’s GDP.

Mukesh Ambani regains top spot

Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani has reclaimed the No. 1 position on the Hurun India Rich List 2025 with a net worth of Rs 9.55 lakh crore. Close behind is Gautam Adani and family, with Rs 8.15 lakh crore. Their rivalry continues to define the top of the list, reflecting India’s strength in petrochemicals, energy, and diversified conglomerates.

For the first time, Roshni Nadar Malhotra, Chairperson of HCL Technologies, has entered the top three with a wealth of Rs 2.84 lakh crore. This achievement not only makes her India’s richest woman but also underscores the growing role of women entrepreneurs in shaping India’s corporate future.

Bollywood’s First Billionaire Shah Rukh Khan

The 2025 list marks a milestone for the Indian entertainment industry. Superstar Shah Rukh Khan has become Bollywood’s first billionaire, debuting on the Hurun India Rich List 2025 with Rs 12,490 crore. After winning a National Award earlier this year, Shahrukh Khan’s fortune reflects both his film career and his business ventures, including investments in sports, production, and real estate.

Other Bollywood personalities also feature prominently. Juhi Chawla and family hold Rs 7,790 crore, largely from Knight Riders Sports. Hrithik Roshan stands at Rs 2,160 crore thanks to his HRX lifestyle brand, while Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and investments place him at Rs 1,880 crore. Amitabh Bachchan, with five decades of contribution to cinema and real estate, debuts with Rs 1,630 crore.

Start-Up Founders and Young Wealth Creators

The Hurun India Rich List 2025 also highlights the rise of young entrepreneurs. Zepto co-founders Aadit Palicha (23) and Kaivalya Vohra (22) lead the youngest wealth creators, reporting fortunes of Rs 5,380 crore and Rs 4,480 crore respectively.

The youngest billionaire is Aravind Srinivas (31) of AI firm Perplexity, with Rs 21,190 crore. Other notable young entrants include Rohan Gupta of SG Finserve (26; Rs 1,140 crore), Shashvat Nakrani of BharatPe (27; Rs 1,340 crore), Trishneet Arora of TAC Security (30; Rs 1,820 crore), and Aditya Kumar Halwasia of Cupid (31; Rs 1,960 crore).

India’s Growing Billionaire Base

The expansion of the billionaire community reflects India’s economic transformation. From technology and healthcare to manufacturing and entertainment, wealth creation is diversifying beyond traditional industries. The Hurun India Rich List 2025 demonstrates that innovation, entrepreneurship, and global competitiveness are key drivers behind this rapid growth.

Conclusion

The Hurun India Rich List 2025 reaffirms India’s position as the world’s new hub for billionaires. With industrial giants like Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani, trailblazers like Roshni Nadar Malhotra, and cultural icons such as Shah Rukh Khan, India’s wealth map is more diverse than ever. As start-ups and young innovators continue to rise, the future editions of the list are expected to reflect an even broader spectrum of success stories.
