Nuh, Haryana: What began as a seemingly small parking dispute in Nuh has once again spiraled into a communal flashpoint. According to eyewitnesses, the argument, which started between two local men over a parking space, took a sinister turn when mosque loudspeakers allegedly called upon residents to “gather.”
Within minutes, a large mob armed with stones, sticks, and petrol bombs descended on the area. The primary targets, witnesses say, were Hindu owned shops and properties. Stones rained down on buildings, several shops were set ablaze, and at least 10 Hindu residents were injured, some critically.

Local business owner Rajesh Kumar described the scene as “eerily similar” to the 2023 Nuh violence, in which Hindu religious processions were attacked and dozens were injured. “It was planned, not spontaneous,” Kumar said. “The moment the mosque announcement happened, people poured in from all directions.”
Police and paramilitary forces were rushed to the spot, but by the time they regained control, the damage had been done. Burnt shopfronts, shattered glass, and charred vehicles lined the street an unsettling reminder of the area’s recent history of communal unrest.
Pattern of Targeted Attacks
Security analysts note that Nuh, located in the sensitive Mewat region, has been a recurring flashpoint for communal flare-ups over the past decade. They warn that such incidents, if not tackled with strong preventive measures, could embolden extremist elements on both sides.
“This is not just about law and order; it’s about dismantling networks that can mobilize mobs at a moment’s notice,” said retired IPS officer S. N. Sharma. “Intelligence gathering, swift arrests, and visible justice are the only deterrents.”
Government Response and Public Outrage
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini condemned the incident, calling it “an orchestrated act of communal hatred.” He has ordered a high level probe and promised strict action against the instigators.
Meanwhile, social media has been flooded with videos of the violence, with hashtags related to Nuh trending nationwide. Many users expressed frustration over what they see as a repeated pattern of mob mobilisation against a specific community.
As investigations continue, residents of Nuh remain on edge. Curfew like restrictions have been imposed in sensitive pockets, and police patrols have been intensified. For many here, the nightmare of 2023 feels like it has returned only this time, the warning signs were ignored.
