Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid has accused Pakistani forces of carrying out an airstrike on a civilian home in Afghanistan’s Khost province shortly after midnight on Monday. The incident reportedly took place in the Mughalgai (Mughalkhel) area of Gorbuz district, where a house belonging to Waliat Khan, son of Qazi Mir, was hit.

According to Mujahid, the strike resulted in the deaths of nine children five boys and four girls and one woman. He stated that the house was completely destroyed in the explosion. The Taliban administration condemned the bombing and alleged that it violated Afghan sovereignty. Pakistani officials have not issued a statement on the claim at the time of reporting.

Last night at around 12 o’clock in the Gorbuz district of Khost province, in the Mughalgai area, the Pakistani invading forces bombed the house of a local civilian resident, Waliat Khan, son of Qazi Mir. As a result, nine children (five boys and four girls)

The spokesman said an investigation was underway and that further details would be shared when confirmed. He added that the Afghan authorities were assessing the site to document casualties and material damage.In addition to the Khost incident, unconfirmed reports circulating on social media claimed that airstrikes also occurred in Kunar and Paktika provinces. According to these accounts, four civilians were injured, and two residential homes sustained damage. However, Afghan officials have not formally verified these reports, and no official statement has been released by Pakistan regarding any operations in these areas.

The alleged airstrike comes amid a period of heightened tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan, with both sides accusing each other of cross border attacks and security violations. Independent verification of the latest incident remains limited due to restricted access to the affected district.

Authorities in Kabul have urged international organizations and regional partners to monitor the situation and help prevent further escalation along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border.
