Police Brutality in Kishangarh: Bhanwar Singh Brutally Assaulted by Police at 4 AM

Kishangarh, Rajasthan: In yet another shocking incident of alleged police brutality in Kishangarh, a 65 year old man named Bhanwar Singh and his son were brutally assaulted inside their own home in the early hours of 11 August Monday morning. The attack, reportedly carried out by a head constable accompanied by other police personnel, has sparked outrage among locals, with community leaders demanding immediate suspension and arrest of the accused officers.

  • Why This Matters

According to eyewitness accounts and family statements, the incident occurred around 4:00 AM in a modest residence located near Mehndola Road, Kishangarh. The victim, Bhanwar Singh, was allegedly targeted due to a long standing land dispute. Family members claim that police officials, misusing their uniform and authority, forcibly entered the house, assaulted Bhanwar Singh with sticks, iron rods, and even sharp edged weapons like axes, and vandalized household property.

Incident Triggered by Land Dispute

Sources indicate that the violence stemmed from a land related conflict in the Mehndola Road area. The dispute, involving local parties with alleged influence in law enforcement, had been festering for months. On the night of the attack, the police allegedly acted on behalf of one side in the dispute, entering Bhanwar Singh’s home without any legal warrant.

Bhanwar Singh’s son stated:

“They broke into our home before dawn, dragged my father from his bed, and hit him repeatedly on the head. He was bleeding heavily, but they did not stop. They also assaulted me and smashed our household items.”

Serious Injuries to the Victim and Family Harassment

Photographs from the scene show Bhanwar Singh with deep head wounds, blood soaked clothes, and visible trauma. Medical sources have confirmed that he sustained severe head injuries and multiple contusions, raising fears of long term health complications.

The brutality did not end there. Bhanwar Singh’s wife was allegedly restrained by a woman constable, preventing her from intervening or seeking help. According to the family, police personnel damaged household furniture, broke utensils, and caused significant property loss during the raid.

Public Outrage in Kishangarh as well as on Social Media

The alleged police brutality in Kishangarh has triggered widespread condemnation among residents. On Monday afternoon, dozens of locals gathered outside the police station, demanding:

1. Immediate arrest of the accused head constable.

2. Suspension of all involved officers pending investigation.

3. A fair and impartial inquiry into the alleged misuse of police power.

Community members have accused the police of shielding the guilty due to internal connections, urging the Rajasthan government to intervene.

A local activist said:

“If an ordinary man like Bhanwar Singh is not safe in his own home, what faith can we have in the system? The uniform should protect people, not be used as a cover for personal vendettas.”

This incident adds to a growing list of allegations regarding police brutality in Kishangarh, where several residents have previously claimed harassment, wrongful arrests, and biased action in disputes involving influential individuals.

Critics argue that in rural areas like Kishangarh, law enforcement is often compromised by political and personal alliances, making justice inaccessible to the weaker sections of society.

A retired police officer, speaking anonymously, admitted:

“There are always a few in the force who misuse their power for personal or political gain. Unless the government enforces strict accountability, such incidents will keep happening.”

Like this case one case came from Mathura some days before where UP Police SI Kapil Nagar brutally assaulted Farmer’s Son Brijmohan Singh. In that case he just transferred and Mathura SP Shlok Kumar trying to save that Police personnel. Justice is due till Now.

Calls for Government Action

Following media coverage of the case, pressure is mounting on the Rajasthan Home Department to take swift action. Political leaders from opposition parties have also jumped into the debate, accusing the ruling government of failing to control police brutality in Kishangarh.

The demands include:

  • Transfer of the case to an independent investigation agency.
  • Criminal charges under sections related to attempted murder, unlawful entry, and destruction of property.
  • Compensation for Bhanwar Singh’s medical treatment and damaged property.

Official Response Pending

As of this report, the Kishangarh police administration has not issued a detailed statement on the incident. However, sources inside the department suggest that an internal inquiry has been initiated. Whether this will result in tangible action or fade into bureaucratic delay remains to be seen.

Why This Matters

Incidents like this not only highlight police brutality in Kishangarh but also raise critical questions about the accountability of law enforcement agencies in India’s smaller towns and rural areas. When the police themselves become perpetrators of violence, public trust in the justice system is severely undermined.

For residents of Kishangarh, the case of Bhanwar Singh has become symbolic of a larger struggle against targeted harassment and misuse of state power. The question now is whether justice will be served or whether the voices of the poor will once again be drowned out by the influence of the powerful.
