Jodhpur, Rajasthan: Jai Narayan Vyas University (JNVU) has officially declared that Poonam Bhati is innocent in the alleged cheating incident reported on September 29, 2025, at a new examination center. The University’s press release confirmed that no suspicious or incriminating material was found in her possession, contrary to the claims made by several media outlets.
The controversy erupted when reports surfaced linking Poonam Bhati to an exam malpractice case. However, after thorough investigation by senior university officials, it was established that the allegations were baseless. The University clarified that while two cases of malpractice were indeed registered, Poonam Bhati was not involved in any of them.
Some media outlets including Dainik Bhaskar and Aaj Tak, along with several political influencers, reported that Poonam Bhati was involved in malpractice. However, the university’s press release, signed by Controller of Examinations Sushila Shaktawat, has categorically denied these allegations.
Poonam Bhati Issues Strong Statement
Responding to the false allegations, Poonam Bhati released a personal statement condemning the media trial and the spread of misinformation against her name.
She said: “I want to make it clear that I had no role in this entire incident. I appeared for the exam with complete transparency and was never involved in any malpractice. I have always raised my voice for exam fairness and integrity.”
Expressing disappointment over the way her name was dragged, Poonam Bhati added:”The media and social media trial against me is completely wrong. I am the daughter of Rajasthan, the daughter of India, and we women will not be intimidated by weak and anti-women elements. The University itself has clarified that I had no role in this case.”
She further stressed that spreading unverified news damages reputations and vowed to take legal action against those who deliberately misused her name.
A targeted attempt to malign her Image
In her statement, Poonam Bhati pointed out that the controversy was a pre-planned attempt to tarnish her image.”I come from a border region where daughters still struggle for representation and education. My organization gave me an opportunity despite my humble background, and this is troubling some anti-women elements. I will continue to stand as a ray of hope for thousands of sisters and daughters like me.”
