Shailendra Singh Gaur Six Stroke engine
Allahabad University alumnus Shailendra Singh Gaur has developed a six stroke engine

Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh: In a groundbreaking achievement, Shailendra Singh Gaur, an Allahabad University alumnus, has developed a six stroke engine that promises a major revolution in clean and efficient mobility. Capable of running on multiple fuels, the engine offers a remarkable mileage of 176–200 km per litre while producing almost negligible pollution.

According to a report by Live Hindustan, Shailendra Singh Gaur completed his BSc from Allahabad University in 1983 and later pursued his passion for innovation. Though he was offered a position by Tata Motors in 2007, he chose to dedicate himself to independent research instead. His determination and vision eventually led to the development of the six stroke engine, a project for which he now holds two patents.

Turning Sacrifices into Innovation

To continue his experiments, Shailendra Singh Gaur reportedly sold his land, shop, and even his house. He transformed his rented accommodation into a workshop, where he tirelessly worked on prototypes. At one stage, he conducted experiments at the Mechanical Department lab of MNNIT Prayagraj under Professor Anuj Jain and later collaborated with researchers at IIT BHU.

His breakthrough came while experimenting on a 2017 model 100 CC TVS bike. Using just 50 millilitres of petrol, the modified bike ran for 35 minutes, translating into an extraordinary 176 km per litre mileage. The six stroke engine not only boosts efficiency but also utilizes nearly 70% of the fuel’s energy, making it three times more efficient than conventional four stroke engines.

Demonstration of Efficiency

In a televised demonstration, Shailendra Singh Gaur showcased his modified bike covering 120 km on just one litre of fuel. Such efficiency levels highlight the potential of the six stroke engine to reduce both fuel costs and carbon emissions, addressing two of the most pressing challenges in the automotive sector today.

A Vision for Sustainable Mobility

The development of this six-stroke engine represents a significant step towards sustainable transportation in India. By offering both multi fuel compatibility and ultra high mileage, Shailendra Singh Gaur’s invention could reshape the future of mobility, particularly in a country where fuel prices and pollution remain critical concerns.

While large scale adoption will require further testing and industrial collaboration, Shailendra Singh Gaur’s innovation stands as a shining example of Indian ingenuity, determination, and sacrifice.
