RailOne App Launched: One-Stop Digital Platform for All Indian Railways Passenger Services

In a major step toward digitizing the passenger experience of Indian Railways, Union Minister for Railways, Communications, Electronics & Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw launched a brand new integrated mobile application RailOne. The official launch took place at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, on the occasion of the 40th Foundation Day of the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS).

The RailOne app is designed to be a comprehensive, user-friendly, and secure platform for all rail passengers across India. It combines the functionality of various fragmented services into a single mobile application, delivering an enhanced and seamless user experience. The RailOne app is an all in one mobile application developed by CRIS (Centre for Railway Information Systems) the technology arm of the Indian Railways. Speaking at the event, Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw emphasized that the Indian Railways is not just a transport system but the backbone of India’s economy and connectivity. Making passenger services more convenient and accessible through digital platforms is a critical step in achieving Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a digitally empowered India.

“RailOne is a significant leap toward making railway services more accessible, user-centric, and efficient. We aim to make the Indian Railways the most modern and passenger friendly railway system in the world,” said Vaishnaw.

CRIS at 40: A Legacy of Digital Innovation

The launch event was held as part of the 40th Foundation Day celebrations of CRIS the autonomous organization under the Ministry of Railways, which is responsible for developing and managing crucial railway IT systems. Since its inception in 1986, CRIS has delivered some of the most successful tech platforms in the public sector, including:

  • IRCTC ticketing platform
  • Freight Operations Information System (FOIS)
  • Passenger Reservation System (PRS)
  • UTS and NTES
  • e-Procurement systems
  • Rail Drishti

Now with RailOne, CRIS is taking a step further to unify services and improve user satisfaction.

1. Ticket Booking (Reserved & Unreserved)

RailOne allows users to book both reserved tickets (through IRCTC) and unreserved tickets (through UTS integration). Passengers can also cancel tickets, check seat availability, and book return journeys.

2. Live Train Tracking & Running Status

Passengers can track live running status of any train across India with accurate arrival/departure data, platform numbers, and delays.

3. PNR Status & Alerts

Users can input their PNR number to get real time updates on seat confirmation, coach positions, and route progress.

4. Coach Position & Platform Locator

Know where your coach will arrive on the platform, reducing last minute chaos.

5. Station Facilities & Amenities Info

View detailed information about available facilities like waiting rooms, escalators, lifts, lounges, restrooms, and more at major railway stations.

6. E-Catering & Food Ordering

Passengers can order meals directly from the app with integration from IRCTC’s e-catering partners. Track delivery and choose from regional/local options.

7. Complaint and Feedback Section

Submit complaints regarding train services, station facilities, cleanliness, and staff conduct. The feedback system allows for faster grievance redressal.

8. Language and Accessibility

Supports 11 Indian languages and includes features for the differently-abled, including voice-over support and large font toggles.

9. One App for All

No more switching between IRCTC, UTS, NTES, RailMadad, or other platforms. RailOne centralizes all services in a single platform.
