Siwan triple murder case linked to liquor mafia and Singh Brothers petrol pump

Siwan, Bihar – July 2025: In a chilling incident that has sent shockwaves across Bihar, three individuals were brutally murdered in Bhagwanpur Hat area of Siwan district on July 4, 2025. The victims Munna Singh, Rohit Singh, and Kanhaiya Singh all belonged to Kauriya village and were known for their open opposition to local liquor mafias.

According to early reports and a press release from the Siwan Police Superintendent’s office dated July 5, 2025, the victims were ambushed near Malmaliya Bazar by armed assailants. The attackers, allegedly linked to the illegal liquor mafia, used sharp weapons, firearms, and even a vehicle to carry out the gruesome murders. Two other individuals were severely injured in the attack and are currently undergoing treatment in critical condition.

History of Tension: Victims Had Filed FIR Against Liquor Mafia

Sources from the victims’ families and local villagers have confirmed that Munna Singh, Rohit Singh, and Kanhaiya Singh had earlier filed a formal FIR against a powerful local liquor syndicate allegedly run by individuals belonging to the Bhumihar community. This FIR, registered at Bhagwanpur Hat police station, reportedly named several individuals involved in illegal alcohol production and distribution.

The victims, all from the Kshatriya community, were vocal in raising the issue of the liquor mafia’s growing influence and alleged police protection. Following their complaint, tensions in the area began escalating. Villagers claim that threats were issued to the complainants, warning them to withdraw the FIR.

Deadly Attack: What Happened on July 4

On the evening of July 4, the victims were returning from nearby fields when a group of assailants ambushed them near Malmaliya petrol pump. Eyewitnesses say a vehicle was used to run over some of the victims, while others were attacked with swords and fired upon at close range. The level of brutality shocked the entire village.

In the immediate aftermath, the Siwan police responded quickly. According to the official police statement, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) and the Special Operations Group (SOG) were deployed. Within 24 hours, six individuals were arrested, and raids were initiated to nab other suspects.

Singh Brothers Petrol Pump Under Scrutiny

The Singh Brothers Petrol Pump, located in Malmaliya Basantpur, Siwan (PIN 841406), is an IndianOil fuel outlet that has come under intense scrutiny following its alleged link to the recent triple murder in Siwan’s Bhagwanpur Hat area. While the petrol pump is widely known by its commercial name, Singh Brothers, the official records available through IndianOil’s locator list a contact number (+91‑9955571304) and an email ID (deonarayans07@gmail.com). Though the company has not publicly disclosed the legal owner’s name, the email ID suggests that an individual named Deo Narayan may be associated with the management or ownership of the outlet.

As of now, no formal government or investigative agency has publicly released the verified name of the registered owner, and no individual by name has been held officially accountable in media reports. The Singh Brothers Petrol Pump has been sealed by the police for forensic investigation after being suspected of logistical involvement in the coordinated attack. Further information about the ownership may emerge as the case progresses or through a formal RTI request to IndianOil or law enforcement agencies.

During the investigation, it was found that several of the attackers were linked to Singh Brothers Petrol Pump in Malmaliya. The pump has now been sealed for forensic examination. Police sources indicate that the petrol pump might have been used as a logistical hub for the liquor mafia. The scientific team collected samples and other evidence from the site.

As per the Siwan police press release, the entire attack appears to be pre planned and executed with precision, indicating the involvement of an organized crime network.

SHO Suspended for Negligence

For alleged dereliction of duty, SHO Punit Sunil Kumar Chaudhary of Bhagwanpur Hat police station has been suspended with immediate effect. Locals had long accused him of ignoring complaints against the liquor mafia and failing to act on the FIR lodged by the deceased.

His suspension is seen as a long overdue move, but many believe more officials should be investigated for possible collusion.

Political and Caste Overtones

While the police have officially refrained from labeling the incident as caste violence, villagers and families of the victims believe that caste dynamics played a major role. The deceased were from the Kshatriya community, and the accused are allegedly from the Bhumihar community, which has a powerful socio-political base in parts of Bihar.

The earlier FIR filed by the victims reportedly mentioned several individuals involved in the liquor mafia, and their connections to local political leaders are now under the scanner.

FIR against liquor mafia

The Siwan triple murder has become a glaring reminder of the unchecked rise of the liquor mafia in Bihar, despite the state’s prohibition laws. The Bhagwanpur Hat killing shows how organized crime has seeped into local governance, with police inaction, caste tensions, and political shelter creating a deadly cocktail.

The Singh Brothers petrol pump has now become a symbol of mafia-political nexus, and residents demand a full public inquiry. Many say the attack was not just about revenge but a brutal warning to others who dare to speak out against the illegal liquor trade.

Call for Justice and Protection

The families of Munna Singh, Rohit Singh, and Kanhaiya Singh are now demanding:

  • Immediate arrest of all named accused in the FIR
  • A CBI inquiry into the liquor mafia operating in Siwan
  • Legal protection for witnesses and other complainants

So far, the administration has promised swift justice, but villagers remain skeptical.

Conclusion: Bihar’s Battle Against Mafia Must Begin at the Grassroots

This gruesome incident in Siwan is more than a crime story—it is a case study in how organized crime, liquor mafia, caste politics, and police failure combine to threaten the lives of ordinary people. Unless systemic action is taken, the lives of brave whistleblowers like Munna, Rohit, and Kanhaiya will continue to be lost in vain.
