Story of Incident: A Calculated Protest or Sudden Outburst?

On the afternoon of August 6, during a public event welcoming Swami Prasad Maurya, chaos erupted as two youths emerged from the crowd and tried to confront the politician. The Rae Bareli Police swiftly apprehended them and later identified them as Shivam Yadav, son of Krushna Kumar Yadav from Aati village, and Rohit Dwivedi, son of Amresh Kumar from Kaurapur Gaura.

According to eyewitnesses, the two had infiltrated the crowd pretending to be supporters. As Swami Prasad Maurya began addressing the gathering, the duo attempted to approach him aggressively, allegedly aiming to slap or confront him physically. However, alert police officers intervened and prevented any direct assault.

The Real Motive Behind the Swami Prasad Maurya Attack

Initial interrogation by local police revealed that the motive behind the Swami Prasad Maurya attack was not random violence but deep ideological anger. Rohit Dwivedi reportedly confessed that he was offended by Maurya’s past remarks on Sanatan Dharma, Bhagwan Shree Ram, and the Brahmin community statements that had sparked controversy across Uttar Pradesh and beyond.

Shivam Yadav, on the other hand, appears to have joined the act under peer pressure and growing frustration over what he called “divisive and disrespectful politics.” The duo had planned to confront the politician as a symbolic protest, but it quickly escalated into a criminal act.

Political Fallout and Police Response

Police have booked the accused under sections related to public mischief, attempt to assault, and breach of peace. Meanwhile, Maurya has squarely blamed the Yogi Adityanath government and Karni Sena for encouraging such violent behavior. The Karni Sena, which has publicly disagreed with Swami Prasad Maurya’s statements, denied direct involvement but admitted ideological differences.

The Swami Prasad Maurya attack once again highlights the volatile intersection of religion, caste, and politics in Uttar Pradesh. As investigations continue, the public demands accountability not just from the attackers, but from the system that fuels such outrage.
