Accuracy over speed
We value verification, reliable sourcing and context over being first to publish.
The News Drill is an independent digital news platform built around a simple belief: readers deserve more than a headline. They deserve facts, context and clear reporting.
Our purpose is to make important developments easier to understand, examine and discuss.
In a media environment crowded with sensationalism, half-truths and misleading narratives, The News Drill aims to bring readers closer to the substance of every story.
We cover developments across public affairs, law, politics, business, the economy, defence, technology and society. Our approach places facts before frames, context before conclusions, and clarity before noise.
We want readers to question, verify and understand the issues that shape public life.
These principles describe the editorial approach we work towards and the standards by which our work should be assessed.
We value verification, reliable sourcing and context over being first to publish.
Claims should be supported. Errors should be acknowledged and corrected responsibly.
Readers should be able to distinguish reporting, analysis, opinion and sponsored material.
We examine issues affecting India while recognising their wider regional and global context.
A clear editorial process helps readers see how a story moves from a developing event to published coverage.
Identify the development, examine available information and locate relevant primary sources.
Cross-check key details, dates, claims and supporting material wherever possible.
Explain the background, relevant institutions and implications behind the news.
Present the story in a clear format and remain open to corrections and feedback.
We report and analyse developments across the subjects that influence public life, institutions and the future.
The News Drill was established by individuals who wanted to build a digital publication focused on substance, public awareness and responsible journalism.
