Standing at 359 meters above the Chenab River, the bridge is now recognized as the tallest railway arch bridge in the world, surpassing the height of the Eiffel Tower. The Chenab Bridge spans 1.3 kilometers and is constructed using steel and concrete. It is designed to withstand wind speeds up to 260 km/h and has a projected lifespan of 120 years. He flagged off the Vande Bharat Express between Katra and Srinagar, establishing the first direct train link between Jammu and the Kashmir Valley. The train is specially engineered to endure extreme temperatures, with features like heated windshields and thermal insulation for operations at temperatures as low as -20°C.
